An Introduction to this blog and to Baron Van Woulfe

My wife and I took a short trip for our 22nd wedding anniversary to The Great Smokey Mountains.  We thought it would be a fun idea to have a mascot with us and document all of our future travels through his eyes.  We searched all the little gift shops that we could find, and that we had the energy and ability to get to in Gatlinburg, Cherokee NC, and Pigeon Forge and never really found what we had envisioned as our mascot. We had basically given up on finding him on this trip, and on the way home, we stopped to visit my wife's Mother in Chattanooga.  After we left I said - you know, maybe the gift shop at Rock City would have what we've been looking for.  And although they did not have the exact thing we had pictured, we still walked away with a new mascot friend.  His name is Baron Van Woulfe - a name we picked out for him.  He is of German descent and he is a Gnome.  Appearing here for the first time ever I present to you our new friend.
